After
putting on the Ihram with Niyya and reciting Talbiya
(see below), pilgrims enter a state of deep devotion. The
folowing are forbidden acts whilst in Ihram:
-
Sexual
intercourse or any kind of sexual contacts.
-
Marriage
or engagement.

-
To
remove or take off hair from any part without excuse such

To
use perfumes after the niyya of Ihram.

To
cover the head with fixed headgear.
-
To
wear shoes. Certain kind of slippers are permitted.
-
To
wear garments with seams or dyes (this restriction is only for men).
One
should change into Ihram from the prescribed Miqaat.
However, passengers on airliners should be in Ihram before their flight and
should perform the Salat and Niyyat for the Ihram once the Pilot announces
theimpending crossing of Miqaat.
Where
the carrier is a non-muslim one and the crossing of Miqat is not likely to be
announced then you must make Niyyat for your Ihram prior to boarding your flight
even though the Miqaat may be hours after
the takeoff. This is a precautionary measure to overcome the likelihood of you
being asleep when the Miqaat is crossed whilst no Niyyat having being made.
